Tampa's motorsport scene got a serious upgrade with the opening of the Academy Afterhours Sim Lounge. Eight professional racing simulators, open to anyone from first-timers to licensed racers.
The lounge is run by Academy Sim Racing, which also builds custom racing simulators and runs driver coaching. The rigs are the same specification we sell, so a session is also the best way to try a build before ordering one.
Walk in on Friday and Saturday, 2 PM to 10 PM. Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday are open by appointment, and we are closed Tuesday.
One-hour sessions, every day. Book 1 to 4 hours. Pricing is per rig: Single Race Rig $40/hr · Manual Cockpit $50/hr · Pro Cockpit $50/hr · Motion GT $60/hr.
For a group, a full lounge buyout gives you all eight rigs and nobody else in the room. It is $249 for an hour or $449 for two, Sunday through Thursday, and $300 or $549 on Friday and Saturday.
If you come in regularly, membership brings the rate down to $25 an hour across every tier.
